invites applications for a

Computer Systems Analyst II

to join their team. This position will serve as the lead project manager for all facets of the back end of online academic program development including course creation, scheduling, and registration management. The Computer Systems Analyst II will serve as the chief liaison between the Registrar’s Office (RO), Wiley personnel, various academic departments, the Graduate School, Financial Aid, Admissions, Business Services, Information Technology, and UMOnline. This position will work with and support all RO managed software applications (Banner, DegreeWorks, InfoGriz, Coursedog, Credly, Quottly, Ellucian Workflow, Ellucian Document Management System, etc.). Support of these systems includes full lifecycle software development and project management as it pertains to online academic programs from needs assessment, functional design, data integration, testing, procedure development, training, SQL report development and program assessment.

The Computer Systems Analyst II will work closely with technical staff from other areas on campus (e.g. IT/Enterprise Information Systems (EIS), various Student Affairs and Student Success programs and services, and Banner Module Owners (Mod Squad, etc.), as well as employees from relevant partner administrative units.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

Oversee all administrative aspects of online program development from admissions through graduation.

Provide technical expertise to other employees of the Registrar’s Office.

Approve and manage Banner security profiles for Wiley personnel and/or other third-party vendors.

Oversee cross-sector badging, micro-credential, and certificate awarding and transcription

Represent the interest for the Office of the Registrar on various committees and advises on issues concerning online program logistics, policies, and procedures.

Assist in room scheduling and registration personnel.

Delegate tasks and ensure deadlines are met for project(s).

Upon completion of training, the incumbent will have:

Familiarity with the University of Montana, the University's policies, procedures, and best practices, and working within a higher education setting in general.

Ability to work through ambiguities, bridge gaps, and lead collaborative efforts across multiple sectors.

Required Skills

Knowledge of project management and analysis strategies and activities.

Knowledge of data management, systems design and development, application development, web development, and maintenance.

Knowledge and experience in client relations while providing positive customer service.

Strong communication, organization, management, and multitasking skills.

Demonstrated ability to complete projects on time.

Strong ability to work in a team of diverse individuals and to share knowledge with peers, as well as ability to work independently.

Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making.

Strong ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and quickly identify problems and find solutions.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in relational databases such as Oracle and Microsoft Access with ability to learn others such as SQL, SQL , PL/SQL, and SQL Server.

Knowledge and experience in computer testing techniques when applied to complex and large systems.

Proficiency with web content management

Minimum Required Experience

High School diploma and two (2) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with Ellucian products (Banner, Degree Works, Workflow)

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
