The University of Plymouth Careers Service is recruiting a Student Development Consultant to lead on our student development programme and associated online development tools. The Careers Service offers a comprehensive range of Faculty/School and centrally co-ordinated activities, opportunities and support for students to help them develop their skills and experiences in order to be successful in the world of work. This role sits within the faculty engagement and careers guidance team and involves; Writing, planning, delivering and evaluating our 1st year student development programme Working with students primarily in their first year of study across a range of subjects Liaising with academic staff to negotiate and plan timetabling of the development programme as part of the academic curriculum Working closely with our team of Careers & Employability Consultants Supporting the work of the wider careers service Maximising the use of our innovative careers systems, tools and e-resources to support student development and engagement with the Careers Service You will: Be an experienced trainer/facilitator with specific experience of delivering a range of high quality development programmes and interventions from design to evaluation in a large organisation Be self-motivated and highly organised with proven ability to work on your own and as part of a team Have experience of HE careers and employability services or a similar environment (desirable) Have group facilitation experience Have educational attainment at higher education level (or demonstrable equivalent experience) Have learning development and/or teaching and/or coaching qualification or equivalent knowledge (desirable) This role will require a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
