Description:

We are looking to recruit an energetic and committed Lecturer to work within our dynamic Theatre and English and Creative Writing teams, in the delivery of an innovative and inter-disciplinary curriculum. You will be expected to teach across the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum, teaching students of Drama and Acting as well as students of English and Creative Writing. We are actively seeking candidates with research and teaching expertise in the area of writing for performance across multiple platforms and mediums, including for the stage and screen as well as for other digital media, and in immersive and interactive story-telling settings. You will contribute to the vibrant research culture and groups in the new School of Society and Culture, and will have a strong research track record (appropriate to career stage). All applicants will need to demonstrate that they have excellent interpersonal skills and will work effectively both independently and as part of a team with colleagues, students, and internal, and external associates. The post requires: A first degree in Drama, theatre, performance subjects or English subjects; A PhD in drama, theatre and/or performance or Creative Writing; Distinct research specialism and a strong research track record (appropriate to career stage); Ability to teach across the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum; Experience of academic administration responsibilities; Excellent academic and pastoral support for students; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team and to take initiative.
