Essential Function: Applies professional knowledge, skills, and training to help conduct experimental research work; research associates encompasses individuals at all degrees and have a high level of competency in research but may not have an independent research program.
Responsibilities:
*Assist with various activities of imaging core lab for department of Radiology. *Prepare, clean and analyze neuroimaging data (primarily MRI). Maintain optimal protocol and accuracy by conducting regular quality and reproducibility checks. *Work with investigators to determine best analyses for their particular dataset and execute the imaging analyses and postprocessing in a timely manner *Manage daily operations of the research PACS including overseeing maintenance and systems testing, upgrading, and installing. *Transfer imaging studies from clinical PACS to research PACS and assist study PI/imaging core lab to setup, customize and maintain new studies and manage ongoing studies.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a profession/field or equivalent level of knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications: The candidate should have a master’s degree or equivalent in computer science, biomedical engineering, Computer and Information Science, neuroscience, or related fields. The ideal candidate will have strong computing and analytical skills to work with large datasets, including computational and statistical methods for imaging (e.g., Mat Lab, SPM, AFNI, FSL, IDL). Working knowledge of computer coding (especially bash programming) is essential. Previous experience in medical imaging analysis, statistical signal processing and creating automated processing pipelines is preferred. Also, an intermediate understanding of statistics is also preferred. The candidate should also have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills. An innovative approach to experimental design, the ability to synthesize information and the ability to work with teams that involve multidisciplinary experiences with MDs and PhDs is preferred.
