Job Description:
The Sociology and Criminology Department at Assumption University invites applications for a one year Visiting Assistant Professor of Criminology to start in Fall 2022. This position will help support our growing criminology program and share responsibility for the criminology program curriculum with existing faculty. This includes teaching the two introductory courses, Introduction to the Criminal Justice System and Criminology, as well as Deviant Behavior and upper-level electives in the faculty's area of expertise. This is a full-time teaching-focused position.
Requirements:
Applicants should have a PhD in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Sociology (with a demonstrated concentration in Criminal Justice and/or Criminology), or closely related academic field. ABD graduate students with prior teaching experience will also be considered. A JD is not considered an appropriate degree for this position.
