Job Description:

BASIC PURPOSE: Provides leadership in the recruitment and selection of students in support of the mission of the University.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Assist in the development and oversee the implementation of an undergraduate recruitment plan that is consistent with the University's strategic enrollment plan.

2. Establishes recruitment objectives by forecasting and analyzing recruitment regions and territories. Determines annual recruitment goals for each admissions representative, implementing recruitment strategies, analyzing trends.

3. Tracks progress toward application, acceptance and enrollment goals, identifying issues and required actions.

4. Maintains a recruitment territory

5. Trains and motivates admissions staff to meet enrollment goals. Mentors individual counselor development and professional opportunities.

6. Recruits and hires new admission staff

7. Collaborates with the director of visit experiences and director of marketing to meet enrollment goals

8. Evaluates the qualifications of prospective students and makes admissions recommendations that are routinely accepted and in the best interests of the student and the University.

9. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational conferences and webinars and participating in professional organizations.

10. Represents the University at conventions, University night functions, fairs and high school visits in an effort to promote Assumption and encourage prospective students to apply for admission.

11. Makes presentations promoting the University to various groups of students, parents, and guidance personnel.

12. Conducts personal interviews with prospective students in order to familiarize them with the University's programs and policies, and to assess their interests and goals.

13. Assists with students' requests for financial aid and makes recommendations for scholarships and grants on the basis of scholarship, character and financial need.

14. Maintains strong contacts with the University's Alumni as a source for prospective students.

15. Serves as a Campus Security Authority for Clery reporting purposes and a Responsible Employee for Title IX reporting purpose.

16. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption University.

* Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.

* 5-7 years experience in University admissions or successful sales experience required.

* Experience with and commitment to goals-based territory management recruitment philosophy

* Ability to make decisions and recommendations that are data informed.

* Prior supervisory experience required. Training skills, presenting skills, relationship building, mentoring, and team building experience.

* Strong computer skills required. Experience with utilizing a CRM in achieving goals preferred.

* Strong commitment to customer service and community relations

* Strong communication skills

* Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality required.

* Ability to work evenings and weekends, including overnight travel as required.

* Flexibility and responsiveness in meeting new challenges

* Valid driver's license required.

Additional Information:

SCOPE:

* Supervises the work of approximately 8 employees

* Interacts on a daily basis with prospective and current students, parents, alumni, high school representatives, University community, athletics, vendors and professional organizations of higher education.
