Assumption University is a private, Catholic university which offers its 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students a Catholic liberal education. Job Description:
BASIC PURPOSE: Help lead enrollment efforts in support of the mission of the University.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Lend Strategic support to the Enrollment Management Division, working directly with the VPEM, Director of Admissions, and Director of Financial Aid;
2. Take responsibility for the onboarding of new students, and reducing attrition of deposited students by monitoring their completion of required processes, doing outreach to deposits and families, and supporting Student Life in Orientation efforts;
3. Lead efforts to build coalitions with secondary leaders (school counselors, teachers, principals, superintendents; and community-based organizations), and community college partners, for the purpose of expanding early college, dual enrollment, and creating new signature pathway programs;
4. Liaise with Academic Affairs on transfer enrollment processes;
5. Hire and train personnel for specialty recruitment: transfer students, multicultural students, etc.;
6. In concert with the financial aid and student account teams, provide financial counseling to families, including monitoring of students viewing financial aid awards, submitting FAFSA, and making payments (plans) on time;
7. Generate ideas for attracting more students from underrepresented communities, including developing equitable, appealing and financially responsible awarding plans for moderate income families;
8. Work with Director of Admission to develop a process for borderline admits, including admissions committee, interviews, and other ways to demonstrate admissibility of good-fit candidates;
9. Represents the University at functions, and make presentations promoting the University to various constituent groups (No assigned travel territory);
10. Conducts personal interviews with prospective students in order to familiarize them with the University's programs and to assess their interests, goals and overall admissibility;
11. Serves as a Campus Security Authority for Clery reporting purposes and a Responsible Employee for Title IX reporting purposes;
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* Must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University;
* Master's Degree in related field required;
* Minimum of 10 years experience in higher education required;
* Strong computer skills required. Experience with relational databases and research methodology helpful;
* Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality required;
* Ability to work evenings and weekends, including limited overnight travel as required;
* Ability to travel and valid driver's license required;
* Vaccinated and Boostered for COVID-19 required.
Additional Information:
SCOPE:
* Interacts on a daily basis with prospective and current students, parents, alumni, high school representatives, University community, athletics, vendors and professional organizations of higher education.
* Travels for a minimum of 4 months each year making approximately 250 visits to high schools, conventions, and fairs.
