JOB OVERVIEW
As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients.
The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology, is recruiting for a full-time (100% FTE), research assistant, in the laboratory of Dr. Pier Paolo Scaglioni MD, to assist with the coordination of laboratory projects or research studies in the area of lung cancer research. The selected candidate will make independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Perform experiments and records data according to research protocols. *Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data. May perform statistical and graphical analysis of data. *May assist in animal colony management and animal husbandry. *Apply research principals for less complex assignments. *Perform related duties based on departmental need. REQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree required in a cancer biology or relevant life science.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
*College level knowledge of cancer biology or related science. *Experience with Microsoft Office software. *Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques. *Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
*Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
