The
College of Business at University of Montana
is seeking to fill the position of
Lecturer in Entrepreneurship
beginning August 22, 2022. This is a 0.8 FTE appointment. Reporting to the Chair of the Management & Marketing Department, the primary responsibilities of the Lecturer in Entrepreneurship are:
Teach entrepreneurship courses at the undergraduate and graduate level
Organize and lead the Business Plan Competition
Represent the discipline and practice of entrepreneurship within the college, university, and community
Develop and foster a positive relationship with the business and entrepreneurial community in Missoula and the region
Serve as the faculty advisor for the entrepreneurship certificate programs

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree (or higher) and have five or more (5 ) years of business experience related to entrepreneurship or new ventures. In case of exceptional experience, a bachelor degree may be sufficient.
Demonstrated ability or interest to teach courses in entrepreneurship
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant business experience in entrepreneurial endeavors, new venture creation, start-up businesses, or similar roles.
Demonstrated ability to engage the business community
Teaching quality demonstrated by recent teaching evaluations and/or awards.
Demonstrated commitment to serving the needs of diverse students (e.g., Native Americans, first generation college students, non-traditional aged students, military veterans).
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Salary is dependent on qualifications and is comparable with peer universities in the region. Position includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package

and the
College of Business (COB)
Entrepreneurship in COB consists of three stems of activities: teaching entrepreneurship courses at the undergraduate level and in the MBA program, serving as the faculty advisor and advocate for the undergraduate and graduate certificates in Entrepreneurship, and leading the effort to organize and deliver the John Ruffato Business Startup Challenge. Entrepreneurship is housed within the Department of Management & Marketing, and entrepreneurship is a required course for the management major. The management faculty take a collaborative and responsive approach to supporting the success of our students, including mentoring students via student clubs and extra-curricular activities. We pride ourselves on our rigorous and relevant curriculum, which prepares students for careers in a wide range of management roles. We strive to create and maintain partnerships with companies in Missoula and throughout the region to provide the best opportunities for our students.
