The Associate Dean of Academics and Partnerships is responsible for the overall administration of the Stillman School’s undergraduate and graduate programs and the operation of the Stillman Student Information Office. The Associate Dean serves as the primary liaison for internal student support services offices and is expected to take a lead role in outreach to identify and develop alliances with external partners. The Associate Dean teaches two courses per year.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate Dean will:
1. Participate in strategic planning and goal setting for the Stillman School.
2. Assist in leading the development/redesign and implementation of new and existing academic programs.
3. Lead the Stillman School’s outreach to develop alliances with corporate and academic partners for purposes of student recruiting, program support/enhancement and delivery of continuing/executive education. Serve as a primary liaison for current educational delivery partners.
4. Oversee the operation of the Stillman Student Information Office, a student advising and support unit, including supervision of one administrative assistant and 5-6 graduate assistants. Hire and supervise onboarding of new graduate assistants as needed.
5. Implement advisement and retention policies that support or enhance University goals/efforts and conform with AACSB accreditation standards. Provide support to Stillman’s academic advisor group.
6. Implement undergraduate and graduate student academic probation and provisional admission policies. Monitor the progress of undergraduate and graduate students on academic probation.
7. Participate in both undergraduate and graduate recruiting efforts, including delivering webinar and in-person presentations at Open House events. Organize and assist in new student orientation sessions.
8. Advise faculty on student issues, academic processes, and class management policies.
9. Serve as liaison between the Stillman School and Student Affairs on matters related to student conduct, course/program withdrawals, and health/mental health issues.
10. Participate in efforts to cultivate and steward Stillman donors.
11. Teach two (2) courses per year in the field of expertise (may be undergraduate or graduate, depending upon need).
12. Maintain faculty qualifications as defined by the Stillman School for purposes of AACSB accreditation.
13. Execute other duties necessary to ensure the effective delivery of Stillman undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
Required Qualifications:
• PhD in a business discipline domain or a field that is closely aligned with business.
• Five or more years of relevant experience in an academic leadership role.
• Demonstrated record of active scholarship and effective teaching.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Knowledge of accreditation processes, with a special focus on AACSB accreditation.
• Experience in developing and sustaining external partnerships.
