Work with up to 15 youth 14-21 years of age to ensure their successful completion of the Summer iWorks Program/iWorks Publishing Company. The center created a project called the iWorks Publishing Company, in which iWorks youth serve as writers, photographers, and editors using a web-based app called CANVA. We hope to provide youth with work-from-home opportunities. We need someone with expertise to help us create, prepare content, structure a website, develop newsletters, and facilitate zoom sessions. A person with experience using Zoom, CANVA, and WordPress, as well as the ability to coach youth through the writing and designing process, is needed. Under the direction of the program manager for Summer iWorks for specific responsibilities include:\u00A0Facilitate zoom meeting with youth Mon-Wed (3:00-5:30)Carry out newsletter/website training curriculumEdit content youth create and provide feedback Enthusiastic and eager to interact with students Good communication skills both verbally and in writingComputer/technology skills that are reliable Ability to multitask and be creativeAbility to promote dialogue and creativity amongst youthDaily check-ins with youth via text or phone to remind them of upcoming trainings, tasks and job-related activities.Make sure the youth are following expectations and giving them constructive criticism as needed to help the youth succeed.Complete and submit evaluation reports each Thursday to CPM team highlighting summary of youth progress and noting any issues for concern. Evaluation will include such information as: Evaluate the youth: Are they performing to a reasonable standard?Are they working at their scheduled times?Are they completing tasks?Are they acting appropriate?Are they moving towards their goals?\u00A0Attend all pertinent meetings.\u00A0Have an awareness of confidentiality issues with youth.\u00A0Act as a role model and support to youth. \u00A0Be responsible for and respond to cell phone calls from youth on work days (cell phones can be provided)\u00A0Attend and help prepare graduation. RequirementsSuffolk University undergraduates/graduate students preferred. Preference will be given to those candidates with relevant job experience in community service. Job coaching/mentoring with youth aged 16-21 a plus. A job coach must be able to cultivate open dialogue with youth.\u00A0 Bi-lingual/bi-cultural candidates are encouraged.\u00A0 \u00A0Applicant must have own transportation or be familiar and comfortable with public transportation. \u00A0Reports to: Moakley Center for Public Management\u2019s iWorks Program Manager.
