JOB OVERVIEW
As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients.
The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology, is recruiting for a full-time, research assistant, in the laboratory of Leukemia and Drug Development Laboratory (LDDL), to assist with the coordination of laboratory projects or research studies in the area of hematology. The selected candidate will make independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience.
The LDDL is located in the CARE/Crawley building on University of Cincinnati's East Campus. We are a diverse team focused on studying the etiology, pathogenesis, treatment, and cure of hematological malignancies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Maintains animal colony management, animal procedures such as animal husbandry, blood collection, tail vein injections, and genotyping. *Independently works on whole projects/problems/problem solving. *Contribute to collective team effort. *Perform experiments and record data according to research protocols. *Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data. May perform statistical and graphical analysis of data. *Apply research principals for less complex assignments. *Perform related duties based on laboratory needs. REQUIRED EDUCATION
*Bachelor's Degree required in a related field. *Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
*In-depth knowledge of mouse handling and murine-related research techniques. *May require experience with specialized software programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
*Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
