Due to the successful growth of our postgraduate and post-registration portfolio we are now seeking to appoint a Lecturer of Rehabilitation (Postgraduate studies) to join the University of Plymouth’s School of Health Professions. Our University’s vision is to pursue enterprise, promoting a bold, adventurous spirit and creativity. Our School of Health Professions offers a range of programmes delivered in modern facilities and we have a well-established and growing reputation in learning, teaching, research and enterprise with excellent student feedback ratings. Together with other Schools in the Faculty of Health we offer an outstanding suite of inter-professional flexible and collaborative postgraduate learning opportunities to health and care students. We encourage postgraduates to join our Plymouth Institute of Health and Care Research (PIHR). We have an excellent reputation in rehabilitation research and we welcome applicants who are seeking opportunities to develop an integrated teaching and research career. The newly launched Brain Research and Imaging Centre at the Plymouth Science Park includes a specialist motor control laboratory, led by one of our School’s Professors with a world leading research profile. This BRIC laboratory will facilitate both basic mechanism and translational research, also providing a unique engagement opportunity for our new Lecturer of Rehabilitation. Ultimately this new role, focussing on postgraduate studies, will contribute to our University’s mission statement: Advancing knowledge and transforming lives through education and research. This role suits applicants with expertise and experience in the management and rehabilitation of long-term conditions and/or care for the older person. It will involve delivery of modules of study to a variety of learners at predominantly postgraduate levels utilising innovative ways of delivering education. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential for this role, as this post will involve liaison and collaboration with stakeholders to support the development of our postgraduate offer. You must have a higher degree in a relevant subject and be a team player, enthusiastic about working with a group of experienced and dedicated colleagues. This role will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check plus an Adults’ Barred List check.
