This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the cutting-edge, interdisciplinary Centre for Health Technology (CHT). You will have the opportunity to work with colleagues specialising in digital health, software engineering, psychology, and health services research to deliver and contribute to evaluating and implementing innovative technologies, services, and approaches to transform health and social care. In this post-doctoral fellowship, you will report to Dr Edward Meinert and work closely with his research team and collaborate with other internal and external researchers and industry colleagues. Your primary role will be leading digital health research studies using artificial intelligence to develop conversational agents and other applied-AI patient engagement tools. These systems will support population health analytics and clinical decision support. For a post-holder with technical skills, there will be an opportunity to participate in the design and development of these systems. For a post-holder with a non-technical background, there will be the opportunity to contribute to requirements analysis, product design and product management. You will lead the mixed-methods evaluation of the adoption, experience, impact, and sustainability of technologies evaluated by the research team. This analysis will inform potential adoption in NHS clinical care pathways. You will also support literature reviews and grant applications focused on evaluating the design, development, implementation and adoption of digital health and clinical artificial intelligence. You will have a PhD in a relevant discipline; for example, computing science, software engineering, health services research, psychology, nutrition. You will have excellent communication skills, with a track record of published research appropriate to your level of experience. You will have the ability to work independently to solve problems and carry out high-quality research. You will have the ability to balance and prioritise a varied workload and work under pressure to meet deadlines. You are comfortable and have experience with working collaboratively and presenting research findings.
