The Simulation Instructor will share teaching and administrative duties as assigned by the Nurse Anesthesia Program Simulation Coordinator and Director or the Dean including, but not limited to participation in admissions, advisory, curriculum, and evaluation committees supporting the NA program. In addition, the Simulation Instructor will participate in College of Nursing events and committees as assigned by the Nurse Anesthesia Program Director, the Dean or Associate Dean.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Assists with maintaining all aspects of the Program of Nurse Anesthesia within the Standards and Guidelines of the Council on Accreditation (COA) of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). *Meets the College of Nursing faculty expectations of Teaching/Service/Scholarship. *Represents the Nurse Anesthesia Program, director, faculty, students and the College of Nursing in a professional and courteous manner with regard to all direct in-person, phone, electronic and written correspondences. *Demonstrates expert practice and serves as a role model. *Designs and delivers simulation and related didactic education in accordance with COA and NBCRNA recommendations as requested by the Simulation Coordinator and Program Director. *Ensures course implementation according to curriculum approved student learning outcomes as well as the College of Nursing (CoN) vison and mission. *Collaborates with the Nurse Anesthesia Program faculty in developing and modifying simulation learning experiences; participates in NAP admissions and committees. *Works collaboratively with other CoN and Academic Health Center simulation programs to develop and ensure collaborative efforts that maximize resources. *Assists with preparation of reports on all simulation program activities, standards, accreditation requirements, internal and external meeting outcomes, educational concerns, and student successes. *Participates on 2 student Doctor of Nursing Practice project committees per cohort. *Attends 1 Nurse Anesthesia Program faculty meetings/semester, including the annual NAP faculty retreat. *Attends one educational/training conference every two years.
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Master’s degree in Nursing, doctoral degree required by 2022. *Minimum of two (2) years experience as CRNA. *Current Nursing APRN license in the state of Ohio. *Current certification or recertification by the NBCRNA *Evidence of or potential for scholarly trajectory.
REPORTING RESPONSIBILITY:
Reports to the Program Director, the Dean of the College of Nursing through the Associate Dean or Dean's designee while carrying out the responsibilities listed.
