invites applications for an
Admissions Rep I
to join their team. The Admissions Counselor is responsible for assisting prospective families and students in understanding the academic opportunities and requirements associated with applying for admission at the Missoula College. This includes knowledge of more than 30 different degree/certificate granting programs.
The person assigned to this position will be able to interpret and deliver information about the Missoula College (i.e. policies, procedures, academic opportunities, admission requirements and student life) to prospective students and families visiting the campus and when traveling to high schools and college fairs.
In addition, the person assigned to this position will:
Demonstrate an ability to work independently and in team settings
Use data to create a recruitment strategy specific to Missoula College
Exercise considerable initiative in seeking opportunities and developing relationships necessary to effectively promote the University and maximize the recruiting budget.
Be responsible for planning and completing programing events to encourage enrollment
Complete assessments of each event
Required Skills
Excellent oral, technological, and written communication skills
Ability to gain thorough knowledge of all UM/MC policies and procedures applying to incoming students with an emphasis in Admissions and Financial Aid to provide families with accurate information
Ability to recruit best fit students focusing on high schools, community colleges/adult learning centers and in the community
Support the creation of marketing materials
Ability to develop and implement an annual recruitment strategy for Missoula College
Ability to conduct campus visits with prospective families
Development of strong, positive, and professional relationships with high schools and community college transfer coordinators and program directors
Make contact via phone, email, or in person with a number of educational professionals, parents, students, and faculty to assist with the resident recruitment efforts
Must work effectively in a team and individual setting
Must effectively plan and exercise decision making skills along with analyzing information and developing solutions to problems
Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
Valid driver’s license and exemplary driving record
Ability to travel with and transport printed materials and displays, which requires mobility and some physical demands
Ability to plan, coordinate, execute and evaluate Missoula College Orientation, Open Houses, receptions and Preview events
Demonstrated effective public relations, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse groups of individuals and create and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to establish appropriate priorities and multitask with a high degree of accuracy
Must be a self-starter, work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision
Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, take initiative as appropriate
Must be proficient in the use of office computers and related software with the ability to learn new software
Knowledge of professional office practices and procedures; business English, spelling, grammar, and composition
Minimum Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in a related field as well as at least (2) two years of directly related, relevant work experience; or any combination of experience and education that would provide the competencies required to successfully discharge the essential duties assigned to this position
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in recruiting for Higher Education
Familiarity with UM policies pertaining to enrollment, registration and advising processes.
Familiarity with the curriculum and academic programs within the university
