Assistant Director of Counseling in Curry Health
Center
. This position is under the direct supervision of the Director of Counseling Services. This position will involve functioning as both a counselor and the Assistant Director. Half of the position’s time is to
provide
direct clinical service to
u
niversity students during office hours and, on a limited basis, after hours. This requires assessing needs, diagnosing,
generating
and coordinating treatment plans, and
providing
individual and group counseling at an independent practice level. The Counseling role is complex, requiring a broad range of skills for a
diverse
demographic, case management, clinical supervision, consultation, and awareness of mental health laws in Montana. The counselor’s work is consistent with the Code of Ethics of the American Counseling Association and the policies of Curry Health Center.
The Assistant Director is
also
responsible for the
day-to-day
internal operation and provision of mental health care in Counseling Services. This is a supervisory position that requires a high degree of autonomy and clinical judgment. This position supervises the staff
therapists
and oversees clinical matters. Duties include
facilitating
weekly consultation groups,
collaborating with
medical staff,
coordinat
ing
clinic responses to crises,
professional staff development / training,
facilitat
ing
and
provid
ing
interdepartmental outreach and trainings,
and quality improvement studies.
The Assistant Director
leads
the recruitment,
training
and supervision of students-in-training.
The Assistant Director
utilizes
an
electronic health records (EHR) system to analyze clinician caseloads and
utilization
rates
to
optimize
services
The Assistant Director must be able to
identify
and
trouble-shoot
legal and ethical matters as they pertain to client care and clinical supervision. On a limited basis, the Assistant Director is available for
after-hours
consultation with other campus partners
as well as stepping
in to
the Counseling Services lead role when the Director is unavailable.

Position Details
Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, MUS Contract and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package
including Insurance package, mandatory retirement plan, partial tuition waiver, and wellness program.
Salary for this position is $80,000 - $86,000 per year commensurate with qualifications.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in counseling, social work or psychology, and must have a current Montana professional license consistent with their training. Those without a Montana license will be expected to acquire their license within one year of hire. Maintenance of professional licensure is also required.
Demonstrate a professional level of skill in individual, group, and crisis counseling that includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning/delivery, case management and referral
