Missoula College at the University of Montana in Missoula
invites qualified individuals to apply for teaching and leadership positions within the
Big Sky Culinary Institute
at Missoula College. A Fall 2022 hire date is anticipated.
Successful candidates will have experience and/or education to meet the standards for the American Culinary Federation (ACF) or a minimum of an AAS degree from a reputable Culinary Arts Program.
National Restaurant Association Education Foundation ServSafe certification will be required within six (6) months of employment.
The positions will:
Implement the program mission, goals, and objectives into the curriculum.
Provide that the kitchen/laboratory facilities maintain safe, sanitary, and organized conditions.
Dress appropriately in accordance with the Missoula College’s Culinary Arts Program’s Standard Personal Hygiene and Dress Code, and expect that students do the same.
Clearly outline the skill competencies that are to be mastered and demonstrated by students.

Position Details
Position is Academic Year (10 months), 1.0 FTE Faculty, and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package
including Insurance package, mandatory retirement plan, partial tuition waiver, and wellness program.
Salary for this position is $38,760 – $45,000 per year.
Additional Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years in the food service industry, preference for food service management
Teaching experience at the post-secondary level is desirable
Formal education in culinary management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, alumni, employers, faculty, and staff
Ability to work and solve problems collaboratively and maintain a sense of cordiality in the workplace
Exceptional organizational skills
