Job Description:
The Sociology and Criminology Department at Assumption University seeks to hire a part-time adjunct instructor for the fall 2022 semester to teach one or two sections of SOC121: Principles of Sociology. The first section meets on T/TH 10:00-11:15am. The second section meets on T/TH 12:30-1:45pm. Both sections are capped at 30 students. Class meetings for the fall 2022 semester run from August 24 to December 9, which includes the final exam week.
Adjuncts are welcomed as important contributors to the department and our students, and are provided with office space, email, voicemail, and support and resources needed for quality teaching. Successful candidates may have the possibility of teaching additional courses in subsequent semesters.
Requirements:
Applicants must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption University.
Applicants with a PhD in Sociology or a related field are preferred. ABD graduate students with prior teaching experience will also be considered, as will those with a terminal master's degree in Sociology and prior teaching experience.
