The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio, located in Blue Ash, Ohio. UC Blue Ash College is a suburban campus of the University of Cincinnati whose mission emphasizes quality teaching. The college has an enrollment of approximately 5100 students and offers a variety of degree programs at the associate and technical baccalaureate levels.
The Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science (MPCS) invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Statistics. The Department of MPCS currently has 27 full-time faculty teaching courses from developmental mathematics through calculus and statistics, as well as physics and computer science. The primary responsibility associated with this position is teaching a range of statistics classes at the freshman and sophomore levels. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours (usually 4 courses) per semester and may include evening and/or weekend classes; class sizes normally range from 20 to 30 students: The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in the governance and committee work of the department, college, and university, and to be professionally active in the discipline of statistics and/or the scholarship of teaching and learning.
Position Qualifications (Minimums): All of the following prior to the effective date of the appointment: A Master's degree in Statistics, or in a related field with 18 graduate semester credit hours in Statistics; and at least two academic years of experience in teaching Statistics at the college level.
