ABOUT THE JOB
The Lindner College of Business Career Services Center is searching for two Assistant Directors, Career Services that will be responsible for the development and delivery of comprehensive and innovative career management training and career advising for full-time, part-time, and online students, as well as alumni. In addition to the essential functions listed below, the Assistant Director will educate employers on the process through which to hire international students; oversee the content and production of a career development guide and other supporting training materials; develop and manage a career resource library; and represent UC and the Lindner College of Business at local, regional and national functions. The Assistant Director will also serve as an Adjunct Faculty member. They will develop and teach BA1080 and BA2080 - Career Success Strategies.
JOB OVERVIEW
Provide career consulting and a broad spectrum of career services to facilitate the internship search and post-graduation employment objectives of each student.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Provide career development services to assigned academic unit(s). Provide counseling for students regarding career development. *Develop and implement programs of career exploration and planning, including workshops, seminars, small group sessions. *Work with university counseling services and other student service departments in matters related to career counseling and life planning. *Develop and recommend new operating procedures. *Assist in the development of budget requests and written narrative. *Answer inquiries regarding policies and programs of the center. *Assist in the development and implementation of systems for staff and program evaluation. *Perform related duties based on departmental need. REQUIRED EDUCATION
*Bachelor's Degree *Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Three (3) years of educational advising experience within higher education.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
*Master's Degree. *Knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs of student populations from countries outside the United States. *Strong interpersonal skills are required to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, alumni, prospective students, recruiters, faculty, staff, and professionals from other institutions and associations. *Ability to market the Lindner Career Services Center and the Lindner College of Business to current and prospective recruiters. *Prior relationship management and marketing experience. *Ability to think strategically, develop and execute operational plans and manage multiple projects and priorities. *Knowledge of computerized career center database programs, understanding of website development/maintenance, ability to effectively use MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel. *Strong platform communications experience required. Experience in oral presentations to large and medium sized groups required. *Strong interest in business and knowledge of current business and recruiting trends.
