This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive team and University in a beautiful seaside location, where you can innovate and impact your educational and local community! We are looking for inspiring filmmaker-academics to support the future growth and delivery of the BA (Hons) Filmmaking programme. You will contribute to practice-based teaching and research in our vibrant collaborative and interdisciplinary environment dedicated to producing graduates with the critical, technical and interpersonal skills needed to meet the demands of the evolving film industries. You will have skills and experiences in one of more of the following areas at the University of Plymouth: The craft of filmmaking production (scriptwriting, directing actors, cinematography, sound design and post-production) Critical, technical and entrepreneurial skills to prepare students for work in the film and moving image industries PhD (or exceptionally industry level equivalent experience) in film or related research field Filmmaking at the University of Plymouth celebrates the exploration of each student’s artistic growth and the vital interdisciplinary skills needed to pursue a professional career. The current staff team includes filmmakers, artists, directors and artistic researchers with experience in film/moving image industries and delivering and inspiring students. You will contribute to both teaching and research and support a friendly, inclusive, diverse and creative environment for our students, whose expertise complement and enhance our existing team. As a growing programme, we need people who have a clear idea of their research vision, how this builds upon our current subject portfolio, and the ways in which it might influence our future direction. In addition, there are exciting possibilities for teaching through our transnational education partnerships.
