ABOUT THE CECH SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT CENTER
The CECH Systems Development & Improvement (SDI) Center at UC fosters the development, implementation, and evaluation of PK20 education research and demonstration efforts that improve opportunities to learn for children and youth, their families, and the professionals who support them. At the core of many Center activities is a commitment to advocacy on behalf of all children, as well as partnerships - with school districts, with professional associations, with institutions of higher education, with regional providers, with the state - that improve conditions and outcomes for students with disabilities and other marginalized groups of learners (e.g., learners who are economically disadvantaged, learners at risk of school failure for a variety of reasons, etc.).
Special emphases include supporting (1) systems improvement activities that result in increased equity and improved capacity to meet the educational needs of all learners; (2) technical assistance and dissemination activities - particularly in the area of low incidence sensory disabilities - that respond to and address local, regional, statewide, and national priorities; (3) personnel preparation and continuous learning activities that improve professional capacity to meet effectively a wider range of student instructional and educational needs; (4) program evaluation activities designed to support program improvement and effectiveness; and (5) other innovative efforts, consistent with the priorities of the Center and of CECH, customized based on client need and request.
JOB OVERVIEW
The UC Systems Development & Improvement (UC SDI) Center in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator. Reporting to the Business Manager, the Program Coordinator will assist in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions associated with over $8 million in external funding each year. Additionally, this position will assist in maintaining associated fiscal reports and records, which requires great attention to detail and organization.
The Program Coordinator will work with the SDI Center Team to assist in planning, coordinating, and executing statewide and regional professional learning opportunities for school district, higher education, agency, regional, and state personnel; as well as families and other partners. The Program Coordinator must have strong written and oral communication skills as they will be interacting with and serving as a liaison for the Center stakeholders and participants, including the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio Department of Higher Education, the Buckeye Association of School Administrators, the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators, the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators, the National Center on Educational Outcomes, the Ohio Leadership Advisory Council, the National Center on Deaf-Blindness, Ohio educational service centers and state support teams, and other partner groups.
This position will also perform general office requests to support the SDI team and projects, and to ensure that all Center needs are met in a timely manner.
Funding for this position is based upon the availability of external funds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Design/create and conduct seminars, classes, workshops or programs. *Develop program objectives and monitor quantitative and qualitative data on progress toward objectives. Review objectives to identify problems and solutions, prioritize solutions and develop action steps for program improvement. *Provide financial administrative support for program initiatives. *Develop, administer and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires. Compile statistics and prepare reports. *Develop and implement marketing strategies to recruit students and program participants. *Interact with staff faculty, external agencies and other university departments. *May conduct research and analyze relevant literature, other benchmark information to develop grant proposals, new program ideas and propose program changes. *May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
REQUIRED EDUCATION
*Bachelor's Degree. *Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of program coordination experience.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
*Experience with basic accounting skills. *Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite/office 365. *Ability to work independently. *Meticulous documentation skills. *Excellent oral and written communication skills.
