Student Services is part of the University of Plymouth’s Academic Registry. The Academic Registry mission is to provide a valued authoritative source of expertise, which empowers academic and professional service staff in decision-making, and to work in tandem with stakeholders across the institution to drive innovation in the student experience. Student Services is a department which is at the forefront of driving significant enhancements to the student experience. The University is seeking a Head of Student Services who will continue this ambitious programme of innovation and improvement. The Head of Student Services leads a range of services including: Student Wellbeing Services (Counselling, Mental Health and Pastoral & Spiritual Support) Student Advice (Disability Services, International Student Advice, Student Funding Unit) Student Hub Student Conduct Student Learning (Learning Development, Writing Cafe and the Peer-assisted Learning Scheme) Safeguarding and Prevent compliance The Head of Student Services will work closely with the Academic Registrar and members of the Academic Registry Senior Management Team, as well as with colleagues across the institution, to design and deliver a range of services and initiatives in pursuit of institutional objecives to optimise student success. You will play a pivitol role in the development of student wellbeing and engagement strategies and will be actively engaged with relevant local and national bodies. You will have experience in leading the design and delivery of student support services and intiatives as well as an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the sector. Experience of providing commercially-focussed, strategic leadership to multidisciplinary staff, as well as leading on complex projects is essential.
