Description:
The UKCRC-registered Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit (PenCTU) at the University of Plymouth provides multi-disciplinary academic support to researchers and clinicians for the design and conduct of high quality clinical trials and other well designed research studies. With a growing portfolio of studies, funded by the NIHR and other major non-commercial research funding bodies, this is an exciting opportunity to get involved with clinical trials. Visit our website to find out more about our work: www.plymouth.ac.uk/penctu. The Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit is based on the University of Plymouth’s attractive North Campus at the Plymouth Science Park, Derriford, Plymouth. Remote working arrangements can be supported. We now have a vacancy for Data Manager to join the data management team within the Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit (PenCTU). This is an exciting opportunity for someone with data management experience to join a Clinical Trials Unit that has retained full registration status from the UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC) since 2007. You will join our team and take responsibility for the data management of specific clinical trials and other well designed studies, from set-up and recruitment through to trial closure and analysis. This will involve the collection, computerisation and validation of data, creating trial specific database specifications and supervising data management staff. Under the guidance of senior CTU staff and as a member of the team, you will be responsible for leading on the delivery and continuous development of a customer focused, cost effective and efficient data management service within the PenCTU. You will lead the day to day management of study data, including the design and testing of databases, overseeing data entry, interrogating data for quality and completeness, designing queries for targeted data exports, data cleaning and preparing datasets for statistical analysis. You will have experience of data management, ideally gained working on interventional trials along with an up-to-date knowledge of legislation, regulatory and governance requirements relating to clinical trials. As you will work closely, interactively and collaboratively with numerous stakeholders you will need excellent communication, interpersonal and team working skills, along with the ability to manage and meet deadlines. For an informal discussion to find out more about the role then please contact Laura Cocking by email laura.cocking@plymouth.ac.uk. This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis. Flexible working options including job share will be considered. Please demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria outlined in the knowledge, qualifications, training and experience elements of the job description in your supporting statement. Interviews are likely to take place on Monday 31st January 2022 and you will be notified if you have been shortlisted or not. We offer a competitive salary package and a generous pension and holiday scheme. We also offer a range of other benefits, including ongoing development opportunities.
