Library & Digital Support (LDS) are looking to appoint an enthusiastic graduate intending to make a career in library and information work. This is an ideal opportunity to acquire a basic grounding in library & information work for graduates planning to undertake a postgraduate library qualification, or a student seeking work whilst studying for a professional library qualification. What will you be doing? You will work collaboratively with Senior Information Advisers and Information Advisers from across LDS to deliver a customer focused, cost effective and efficient library and digital support service. Duties will include: First and second line Library and IT Support e.g. Resolution of face to face and remote enquiries Delivering standard digital skills training to students and others e.g. Endnote basics, Microsoft basics etc. Administrative duties in support of Information Specialists and collection development e.g. reading lists and order checks, design of content promotion and displays, updating of subject guides, etc. Dealing with orders, renewals and invoices from suppliers, receipting of print stock, cataloguing and classifying materials, Ebook and eresource activation and authentication Delivery of services such as inter library loans, digital course extracts, alternative format requests, postal loans Collecting & collating management statistics Participating in stakeholder engagement/consultation (Communications, surveys, focus groups etc.) Designated projects as appropriate We are looking for a positive and pro-active individual with excellent customer service skills who is comfortable liaising with teammates, University staff, students and external customers alike, with a flexible approach to working in a busy team. What will you be doing?
