The
Davidson Honors College
invites applications for a
Student Support Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities include:
Assist with coordination of Dean’s schedule
Robust logistical support for events, including, convocation, Evening of Excellence, Scholar Interview Day, Medallion Ceremony, and support for the Office of External Scholarship events
Assist with advising, including, walk-ins, group advising, priority registration, and overflow appointments
Assist with recruitment, including coordinating and hosting prospective student visits, representing the DHC at campus events, assisting with Ambassadors, providing triage for campus visits
Assist with data review, including graduation applications/audit, and contact list maintenance
Provide administrative and clerical support for office staff
Provide logistical and programmatic support for Kermit and Kathleen Schwanke Institute
Develop familiarity and utilize campus technology, including CyberBear, Banner, Slate, and Submittable
Coordinate campus partners including, Admissions, Office of the President and Provost, Office of the Registrar
Upon completion of training, the incumbent will have developed:
Knowledge of UM policies and procedures
Strong knowledge of UM and DHC's academic offerings and advising protocols
Familiarity with and be able utilize campus technology, including CyberBear, Banner, Slate, Cascade and Submittable
Required Skills
Exceptional organizational, time, and project management abilities
Fluency in online platforms, including campus based-systems and social media
Ability to think critically and solve problems, both independently and collaboratively
Outstanding communication abilities, including verbal, written, listening, interpersonal, and digital
Understanding and ability to work effectively with college data sources
Professionalism and excellent customer service skills
Ability to exercise sound judgment, diplomacy, and discretion
Ability to flourish in a dynamic, fast-paced, complex work environment
Adaptive ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents, including students, families, honors staff, faculty, university administration, alumni, donors, and community representatives
Understanding and appreciation of honors education
Minimum Required Experience
Minimum of bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of professional experience in a related administrative position; or any combination of education and experience that would provide the competencies required to successfully discharge the duties assigned to this position.
