Duties and Responsibilities:
• Event Planning/Support – assist with the organization and preparation of the College and CASE events. Selected examples of required events requiring attendance and participation include Undergraduate Open Houses (October, November, February, April), Graduate Open House (February), Pirate Preview (April), Graduate Commencement (May), Graduate Orientation (August and January), association conferences and more. Events and dates are subject to additions and changes, with advance notice.
• News, Feature and Press Release Creation – pitch, interview, and draft copy for multi-level review. The candidate should be familiar with AP and the University style guide requirements. Partner with College-level administrators to suggest ways to integrate CASE content across social media channels.
• Communication and the Arts Graduate Student Association (CAGSA) – serve in a student leadership capacity and support the CAGSA by drafting pre- and post-event publicity and assisting with the planning and implementation of student-centered programming and initiatives.
• Administrative Office Coverage – professionally and responsibly represent the College across its spaces, such as the Office of the Dean, Fahy Hall, Corrigan Hall, Arts Center, as assigned.
• Faculty Support – assist faculty within the College with lecture materials, research and other initiatives, as directed by immediate supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
Position-Specific Responsibilities
• Marketing and Communications – solicit, moderate, and create original content for monthly CASE Digest Newsletter that is sent to the College and University community.
• Student Engagement – assists CASE Directors with student support, including brainstorm, research and propose ideas and resources to foster student engagement.
• Website Maintenance – monitor and update content on the CASE microsite and other maintenance as assigned. Training will be provided.
Required Qualifications:
• Acceptance into a graduate-level program at Seton Hall University. Applicants must be new to their graduate program or have at least two years of coursework remaining.
• Understanding and willingness to support the Seton Hall University Catholic mission.
• Maintain 20-hour on-campus weekly work schedule. Specific schedule is coordinated with graduate assistant’s supervisor and is subject to change, with advance notice. On occasion, participation in night and weekend activities may be required.
Desired Qualifications:
• Priority will be given to students accepted into a graduate program within the College of Communication and the Arts.
• Ideal candidates will have strong initiative, a superior work ethic, work independently with minimal supervision, ability to work collaboratively, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Professionally represent both the College and Graduate Studies in all communication, including telephone, in-person, and email correspondence.
