invites applications for a

Program Coordinator II

to oversee new site development, AmeriCorps candidate recruitment, Criminal History Checks, training design and program evaluation for the MTCC AmeriCorps program. This position works as part of a team, with significant responsibility and leadership roles. MTCC will support 54 AmeriCorps (full-year and part-time) members in the areas of K-12 success, postsecondary access and college completion initiatives. This position will recruit, manage and supervise student employees, including a Work Study student and/or student intern.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

Co-leads implementation of robust candidate recruitment processes for MTCC’s National Service programming

Outreach to regional and national academic programs related to MTCC AmeriCorps program focus areas, recruit new AmeriCorps host sites

Writes and submits service opportunity listings within eGrants system;

Implementation of Montana focused job and volunteer fair outreach

Oversees America Learns, Impact Reporting, and eGrants compliance

Monitors and reviews time log narratives for compliance and hours to ensure members and host sites are on track to complete their term of service

Maintains and monitors monthly compliant enrollments/exits and reports of AmeriCorps Members in eGrants

Evaluates AmeriCorps program and partners for efficacy and success

Conducts compliant criminal history checks for all national service participants and staff (NSCHC) maintains up-to-date knowledge of the NSCHC procedure

Oversees True Screen and Field Print Criminal History checks, producing new procedural guidelines as needed and maintaining compliance

Ensures all paperwork and NSCHC are complete as needed for enrollment

Manages all logistical needs for AmeriCorps trainings

Maintains reporting and data collection processes

Contributes to the preparation and publication of MTCC’s Annual Report and other publications

Contributes to the development and updates of AmeriCorps program procedures and forms including Member Agreement/Certification

Collaborates with MTCC staff to coordinate statewide and regional training events

Contributes and maintains AmeriCorps related content on MTCC’s website and social media, and develops content related to training resources, member service reflections and partnership development for MTCC programs

Contributes to the production of two monthly newsletters for the Campus Compact network

Reviews scholarship and award applications

Provides logistical support for National Days of Service including the statewide MLK Day of Service-Read for Peace project

Contributes to MTCC’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) work

Upon completion of training, the incumbent will understand the Montana Campus Compact in detail, be skilled in using the eGrants and my AmeriCorps portal systems and MTCC filing and office processes, and will be able to clearly articulate the MTCC mission and engage with staff from affiliate campuses and the public.

Required Skills

Professional experience in a nonprofit and/or higher education setting

Program and/or project leadership and management experience

Strong organizational skills

Understanding of adult learning theory, situational leadership, and effective facilitation

Knowledge of volunteer recruitment

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including excellent public speaking skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations and stakeholders

Strong computer skills, including proficiency with office hardware (computers, telephones, printers, scanners) and software, including the following Microsoft products: Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher and Access

Knowledge about Montana culture and communities, including experience in the higher education and nonprofit sectors

Ability to travel throughout the state

Ability to work independently and maintain consistent office hours, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, throughout the calendar year (including summers)

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education, social science, public administration, or a related field, plus two years of relevant work experience

National Service (i.e. AmeriCorps, VISTA, Peace Corps) experience
