Assists teachers with their daily programs and assists with the care of young children. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

1. Helps the Teacher care for the physical and social emotional needs of the children.

1.1 Helps assist in preparing and serving nutritious snacks/meals, consistently following snack & Mealtime/Infant feeding policies.

2. Assists the Teacher in maintaining a safe, neat, attractive and healthy environment for the children.

2.1 Ensures physical safety of the children by complying with the center's health and safety policies including fire drill procedures, and meeting all first aid/CPR requirements.

3. Communicates effectively with parents and fellow staff members.

3.1 Demonstrates a warm, caring and welcoming attitude toward the children, parents and fellow staff members at all times.

4. Continues to keep current in the field of Early Childhood Education.

4.1 Completes the mandated number of Professional Development hours annually.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma

EXPERIENCE

1-2 years related experience preferred.

Per diem; As needed

PHYSICAL DEMAND

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. They are required to reach with hands and arms. They must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. They must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
