The Assistant Director of Operations for Career Programs and Events will perform a wide range of tasks to support events and programming taking place in the Center for Career Equity, Development & Success, including event coordination, data analysis, and purchasing. Duties and responsibilities include assessing event logistics and space needs across the Center, working closely with Center staff and guests to ensure the successful implementation of all events, and development of reports based on programmatic data. This position will also support daily Center operations as needed and partner with other Center staff on the running of the Career Closet, a resource to provide professional attire for Suffolk students. The Assistant Director of Operations for Career Programs and Events will report to the Director of Operations and work closely with the Administrative Coordinator to develop an organized and successful approach to event logistics support. The Operations strand is one part of Suffolk\u2019s Center for Career Equity, Development & Support, which also includes three other strands focusing on Equity and Access, Career Education, and Career Communities.Event ManagementMaintain and update the office\u2019s task management system to aid in the successful implementation of events, marketing, social media promotion, and technical requirements.Oversee task assignments within the Operations Team to ensure the smooth and timely implementation of programmatic logistics.Ensure the successful implementation of logistics for events, workshops, programs, and career fairs sponsored by staff members across the center, including location, marketing, catering, technology support, and set-up/breakdown.Collaborate with employers and guest speakers on payments, parking, and tabling locations.Regularly maintain event surveys and ensure regular distribution to appropriate constituencies.Import rosters and ensure maintenance of student participation records.Report regularly on completed events, event attendance, and upcoming events.Collaborate regularly on center-wide programming with other member of the Operations Team, including on center open houses and other community-wide engagement events.Purchasing and BudgetsWork with Center staff on event-related purchasing and record keeping of spending across each strand.Track expenses to aid decision-making by departmental administrators.Daily OperationsSupport the daily operations of the Center, including assistance at the front desk or with Center-wide events.Participate in regular meetings and planning sessions.Assist in the running, maintenance, and marketing of the Career Closet.
