Description

The Tribal Teacher Education Grants Programs in collaboration with the Education Division is seeking a professional Remote Tribal Grant Partnership Student/Faculty Support Specialist to co-coordinate on-campus support for off-campus students and faculty with the Project Director (PD) of USDOE/OIE Native Teachers Preparation. This Specialist would be responsible for becoming the vector between off-site program delivery and on-campus resources. These responsibilities will include: digital support for Moodle, Outlook, Banner and DAWGS; financial aid support; admissions; mental health connection; registration and graduation; billing and grant budget support. This position will require knowledge of multiple services and frequent collaboration with staff across campus and some off-campus travel. Position is funded from a grant through August 2, 2024, with possibility for extension.

Duties

Financial aid support in helping with process (e.g., consortium agreements, Native American Tuition Waivers, schedules

Academic advising support including maintaining plans of study and

Support PD in managing scholarship process: requests, thank you letters, accounting

Assist students/faculty in registrar processes: registration, enrollment, add/drop, graduation/audits

Assist students in admissions process: application, transcripts, Immunization records

Assist PD in managing Business Office activities: grant reports, reimbursements, internal accounting

Keep detailed records for advising, registration, admissions, travel, funds

Support in fund raising activities: grant writing, events, and management Grant and Development funds

Help faculty access and manage their Moodle courses, and help students access and use their Moodle courses

Help students and faculty set up and problem solve use of Outlook, DAWGS, Anthology and Moodle

Use Banner as needed resolve problems by access data related to admissions, enrollment/registration, financial aid, billing, and other requirements to ensure that students can move through the program as seamlessly through their plans of study as possible

Assist students and faculty in using Anthology for Teacher Education Program (TEP) requirements

Responsive problem solving with PD related to ad hoc issues arising around student and faculty needs

Participate in Education Division Meetings

Support faculty and students around TEP

Travel occasionally to remote campuses during advising

Keep meeting minutes

Manage student files

Assist in travel arrangements

Requirements

Minimum Associate’s Degree in Education or Business

Skills in using various data and learning platforms as well as basic operational software programs

Positive affect and professional disposition

Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse individuals with directness, kindness, tact and sensitivity

Commitment to continuous communication with Project Director and relevant campus offices

Ability to problem solve, resolve conflicts, and facilitate resolutions

Excellent oral, written and editing skills

Strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of records, handling sensitive information carefully and making good judgments

Deal with conflict in calm and productive manner

Valid Driver’s License

Previous work in higher education

Previous experiences in working with Native peoples
