Job Description:

Reporting directly to President Greg Weiner, who was appointed president on October 15, 2022, and serving as a member of the President's Cabinet, the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA) will provide vision and strategic direction to the division of Student Affairs at Assumption University. The VPSA will provide leadership in the context of a Catholic liberal-arts institution with an NCAA Division II Athletics program.

Together with a capable and devoted faculty and staff, the next Assumption University VPSA will be an innovative, collaborative, and visible leader who has an unwavering commitment to creating a vibrant and welcoming campus experience that supports diversity, equity and inclusion in all its forms.

The ideal candidate will support the university's Catholic educational mission in a way that invigorates the division of Student Affairs. A proven record of open, broadminded, senior-level, higher education leadership, transformational programming, and financial expertise is required. Doctoral degree is preferred.

Salary commensurate with experience, starting at $150,000.00 .including robust benefits, generous paid time off and relocation assistance. More benefit detail below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide vision, leadership, quality management and professional development for all of the departments within Student Affairs with a sensitivity and commitment to diversity and multicultural issues;

Deepen the understanding of Student Affairs among all campus constituencies with special attention to faculty, administration and staff;

Maximize the living/learning potential of a highly residential campus by fostering a close working relationship with Campus Ministry and Academic Affairs;

Develop and maintain effective collaborative working relationships with students, staff, faculty, administrators, parents, alumni, and the community;

Promote and sustain responsiveness to student needs, supporting responsible and participative student leadership, while accepting the necessity for discipline and accountability;

Organize and manage complex functions, practice effective problem solving and sound fiscal management;

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of legal issues and compliance requirements that relate to the administration of student life activities and programs;

Develop and maintain within the division of Student Affairs an atmosphere of openness, creativity and vision;

Serves as a Campus Security Authority for Clery reporting purposes and a Responsible Employee for Title IX reporting purposes;

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University;

Master's degree required;

Doctorate degree preferred;

7-10 years Student Affairs experience in a primarily residential University;

Excellent interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication skills;

Strong computer skills;

Ability to inspire and motivate others; ability and desire to mentor students;

Commitment to collaboration;

Ability to work evenings and weekends;

Vaccination and boostered for COVID-19, required.
