Description:
This is an exciting chance to be part of a progressive and cutting-edge University in a beautiful location, where you can really make a difference. The University wishes to appoint a Mobile Device Administrator to support the Faculty of Health. You will be responsible for providing efficient and effective administration of the faculty’s iPad fleet, ensuring smooth co-ordination of all internal activities to an accurate and timely manner. The Mobile Device Administrator is the primary contact for all iPad related queries and will deliver excellent customer service, provide iPad technical support, manage and distribute devices for students and labs across the faculty, will maintain an asset register via an MDM and procure new devices when required. This role will be based within the Digital Education team, which supports staff in the use of digital technologies and resources for teaching, learning, assessment and research. Digital Education provides guidance and advice on a range of Technology Enhanced Learning approaches to help individuals, module/programme teams, faculty groups and professional services staff to progress their own development ideas and projects. You will ideally have demonstrable experience of managing IT devices at scale (including set-up and provisioning), preferably via an MDM service (e.g., Jamf School). You will be liaising and working with internal stakeholders; therefore, you are expected to have excellent communication skills and prior experience of working in a customer focused and/or supportive role. You will also need to demonstrate self-leadership and perform as an effective member within a team. We are seeking a proactive and resilient individual who thrives in an ever-changing dynamic environment, whilst possessing excellent IT and organisation skills, the ability to seek resolutions to problems, and work within tight deadlines remain vital. This is a part-time position working 18.5 hours per week on a fixed term basis for 3 years due to business demand. Working patterns can be discussed upon job offer. The role is currently based on the main University Campus, however the ability to drive and travel to different sites is necessary. Please demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria outlined in the knowledge, qualifications, training and experience elements of the job description in your supporting statement. For an informal discussion to find out more about the role, please contact Mark Lyndon by email mark.lyndon@plymouth.ac.uk. Interviews are likely to take place on Thursday 13th October 2022 and you will be notified if you have been shortlisted or not. We offer a competitive salary package and a generous pension and holiday scheme. We also offer a range of other benefits, including ongoing development opportunities. A successful external candidate for this position would be employed by the University of Plymouth Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Plymouth.
