JOB OVERVIEW

As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients.  

 

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine Department of Medical Education is seeking a passionate educator-scientist at the level of Assistant Professor (12 month faculty position, non-tenure track). The primary responsibility of the appointee is to teach in the Medical Sciences Program, a baccalaureate degree granting program in the College of Medicine. The Program fosters a community of scholars with diverse educational backgrounds and expertise, and provides a welcoming environment for growth and success for all its members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

*Courses taught include baccalaureate-level Biochemistry, Molecular Genetics, Biomedical Laboratory Techniques and Medical Cell Biology (taught during Fall and Spring semesters). *During summers, the appointee will be expected to be involved in mentorship of undergraduate students, and supervision of summer research programs for high school students.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

*Doctoral degree (Ph.D) in any of these subjects. *Demonstrated proficiency in teaching is therefore required for this position.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED

*This is primarily a teaching position, but we encourage pursuit of the appointees professional and personal growth, including research (encouraged but not required), and can be in the fields of education/pedagogical innovation and/or biomedical science. *Laboratory space, supplies, and mentorship will be provided.
