Job Description:
In support of the mission of the University the Sociology and Criminology Department at Assumption University seeks to hire an adjunct instructor for the fall 2022 semester to teach one section of CRM 130: Introduction to the Criminal Justice System. The course meets on T/TH 10:00-11:15am and is capped at 30 students. Class meetings for the fall 2022 semester run from August 24 to December 9, which includes the final exam week. Compensation for the course is $4,000. Adjuncts are welcomed as important contributors to the department and our students, and are provided with office space, email, voicemail, and support and resources needed for quality teaching. Successful candidates may have the possibility of teaching additional courses in subsequent semesters.
Requirements:
Applicants must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption University.
Applicants with a PhD in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related field are preferred. ABD graduate students with prior teaching experience will also be considered, as will those with a terminal master's degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related field and prior teaching experience.
