Faculty Associate EMHS Pool Recruitment
The School of Public Affairs in the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions at Arizona State University is seeking to attract an active, culturally and academically diverse pool of part-time, non-tenure track Faculty Associates to teach in our Emergency Management and Homeland Security baccalaureate and graduate programs. Faculty Associate positions are one semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed .40 FTE. The number of courses is contingent upon needs, funding and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load. Individuals employed as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits eligible appointments at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.
This recruitment establishes a potential part-time hiring pool for temporary and semester appointments. Applicants are considered for the current fiscal year only. Applicants who were not hired are welcome to reapply.

Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate(s) will teach in-person or online courses, prepare course materials, evaluate student work, and assist students.
Required Qualifications:
An earned master’s degree by time of appointment in Public Administration, Public Policy, Emergency Management or Homeland Security OR
An earned graduate degree from a related field from an accredited institution by time of appointment with content expertise in topics relevant to Emergency Management and/or Homeland Security, OR
An earned bachelor’s degree from a related field from an accredited institution by time of appointment with 5 years of experience in Emergency Management and/or Homeland Security.
Demonstrated full-time relevant clinical/professional experience
Desired Qualifications:
Prior higher education teaching experience
Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and student success as well as working with broadly diverse majors and student populations
Prior online teaching experience
Experience with technology/course management systems such as Canvas
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
Expertise in one or more of the following content areas:
Emergency Management, including Incident Management, Mitigation, Preparedness, Recovery
Homeland Security, including Homeland Defense, Terrorism and Counterterrorism
Community Resilience and Sustainability
Biosecurity and Biodefense
Decision Support, GIS, and Risk Assessment
Cybersecurity
Information Technology related to Emergency Management or Homeland Security
Inter-sector Coordination, International Humanitarian Assistance, and Disaster Supply Chain
Public Safety
Public Health related to Emergency Management
Logistics or Operations Management
