Hirshfeld School of Dental Hygiene for Director of the on-campus Sofia & David Konikoff Dental Hygiene Care Facility. This is a full-time position with an attractive benefits package. The Gene W. Hirshfeld School of Dental Hygiene educates both undergraduate and graduate students in the Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene (Entry-level and online Post-licensure programs) and the Master of Science in Dental Hygiene (on-campus, online or hybrid) (****
The Sofia & David Konikoff Dental Hygiene Care Facility provides quality preventive oral health care to not only the ODU community but the greater local community. Care provided by dental hygiene students is directly supervised by licensed dental hygiene faculty.
The position involves supervising overall operation and maintenance of the Sofia & David Konikoff Dental Hygiene Care Facility to include making revisions and coordinating the school's clinical policy manuals, supervision and evaluation of the clinical staff to include Office Manager and Equipment Repair Tech Specialist and any additional staff support for the facility, managing departmental and community problems relevant to the clinical program, managing clinical budget expenditures, ensuring new equipment is safely and appropriately integrated into the clinic for student and faculty use, managing ordering of supplies/equipment for students, faculty and the facility, serving on committees, managing schedules related to clinic operation, generating revenue from the clinic to support the school, marketing the facility, and overseeing and managing technology and computer systems used in the Facility.
The position will involve support needed to transition to the new Sofia & David Konikoff Dental Hygiene Care Facility at the new College of Health Sciences building slated to be complete Summer 2023 in collaboration with ODU resources to construct a plan to increase clinic revenue and services.

Minimum Qualifications
A licensed dental hygienist with an earned MS; a bachelor's degree with equivalent experience to a master's degree may be substituted. Experience in effective dental hygiene leadership and teaching, involvement in service. Experience in revenue generating business operations. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication Possess or be eligible to obtain a Virginia dental hygiene license.
Preferred Qualifications
Earned MS and successful business consultation or history of successful business operations.
Conditions of Employment
This restricted position is funded for a four-year period. The continued funding of this position beyond four years is contingent on the availability of funding based on revenue generation.
The completion of a Statement of Personal Economic Interest and a fingerprint-based criminal history check are required upon hire.
