Job Description
To provide outstanding enrollment-related service to students, faculty, and other administrative offices. To review applications and make initial decisions regarding students' eligibility for instate tuition. To interpret Virginia law and uphold policies. To provide information, service, and enrollment certification processing for students receiving VA educational benefits.

Exceptional customer service skills and a high level of attention to detail. High level of proficiency with typical office software, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment where high levels of accuracy are essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex policies and procedures to individuals from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to interpret complex policies and procedures and make decisions based on established criteria. Ability to exercise judgment where a specific situation may not be directly addressed by a rule, or the rule may be ambiguous.

Considerable experience interpreting and explaining complex rules and/or regulations and policies to individuals from diverse backgrounds. Some experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification
Bachelor's degree. Working knowledge of student information system (e.g. Banner Student, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or a similar program). Considerable progressively responsible experience providing customer service and administrative support for an enrollment services function in a college or university setting. Working knowledge of Virginia Domicile laws. Some experience with Domicile determinations and/or Veteran Affairs Educational Benefits Programs. Some experience working in a higher education environment and some familiarity with the admissions process.
Conditions of Employment
Given the nature of the positions in Student Engagement & Enrollment Services that provide support to student services and/or student-centered programs, the employee occupying this position may be required to work during a university closing as directed by his or her supervisor. These instances may include working from a remote location (i.e. telework, etc.).
This is an on-campus position and not eligible for remote work.
Annual Salary/Hourly Rate
Salary is commensurate with education and experience and begins at $ - 28,354
