Profile

Description:
We are looking for a part-time (2 days/week), embedded Researcher(s)-in-Residence to support and evaluate the implementation and impact of the Integrated Care System for Devon’s Population Health Management (PHM) programme as it is rolled out across Devon. PHM seeks to provide analytical tools, training and support to primary care, local care partnerships (LCPs) and other health and social care service providers to use the One Devon Dataset (ODD) to better plan health and care services, develop more person-centred and preventative services and reduce health inequalities. The ODD links and integrates primary and secondary health and social care data across Devon. You will add value to the programme through applied research that makes a difference to programme implementation and service delivery. You will be embedded in the Integrated Care System, working collaboratively with service stakeholders across Devon to identify programme implementation issues as well as capture the potential outcomes of service innovations (to patients, organisations and the system). You will combine different sources of knowledge and data to co-design and improve the PHM programme, so it better meet the needs of users, and supports the development of multi-site research proposal on PHM. You will need to be a researcher with a track record of working in the NHS and with other system partners such as local government, the voluntary sector, community organisations and the public. You will need to be independent, resilient and innovative, and have excellent influencing skills as well as experience of delivering high-quality research in close collaboration with care staff and managers. You will be a critical companion, diplomatically challenging staff assumptions and ideas and answering their questions with a sensitive approach. The role is flexible and responds to the needs of the Integrated Care System for Devon (ICSD), and those engaging in the PHM programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly applied health services researcher to make a practical contribution to improving care. For an informal discussion about the post, please contact by email or mobile either: Dr Julian Elston - **** or 07946426060 Dr Felix Gradinger - **** This role will require a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service Check. Please demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria outlined in the knowledge, qualifications, training and experience elements of the job description in your supporting statement. Interviews are likely to take place on Thursday 22 September 2022 and you will be notified if you have been shortlisted or not. If you are shortlisted, details of the interview times and process will be sent to you. It is likely that you will be required to give a 5-10-minute presentation as part of your interview. A current full driving licence and willingness to travel is desirable as you may be required to travel to locations not easily accessible using public transport. This is a part-time position working 14.8 hours per week (0.4 FTE) on a fixed-term basis for 17 months due to funding. Start date 1 October 2022 to 29 February 2024. We offer a competitive salary package and a generous pension and holiday scheme. We also offer a range of other benefits, including ongoing development opportunities. What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
