Northamptonshire Youth Offending Service (NYOS) is a successful partnership organisation working to prevent offending by children and young people, whilst helping to resolve offences for victims and protecting the public within the community. As part of the Northamptonshire Youth Offending Service, Reparation Supervisors are embedded across the service supporting young people complete their reparative activity.
We are recruiting a Reparation Supervisor on a fixed term contract. This post will be part of the Restorative Justice Team, supporting children and young people to repair harm to victims of crime and undertake reparation projects that give back to the community. The role provides services to young people involved in the criminal justice system and their families with the purpose of preventing offending and promoting Restorative Justice approaches. Victims of crime will be given the opportunity to take part in the restorative processes and you will be an advocate for these victims and ensure that their voice is heard.
As a Reparation Supervisor you will undertake assessments, be able to identify risk and safeguarding concerns and ensure that all case recordings are maintained, and relevant process are followed in relation to identified concerns. Work will involve motivating and supporting young people who need to complete reparation activities, this role is an opportunity to use your skills and experience to change the way young people think about their past, and their future. The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate their passion and enthusiasm for motivating young people, working as part of a team, and improving their local community spaces and services.
You will need to have a passion for and some knowledge in completing practical work and an interest in undertaking hands-on tasks. You will have experience of working with children and young people and be keen to see them succeed.
This role does require transporting children/ young people to placements, hours of work are flexible around the people you work with so there may be some evenings and weekend work.
Educated to at least GCSE level, you will have some experience of working with children and young people, the ability to engage positively with them, their parents/carers, and colleagues in other agencies.
