The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Seton Hall is seeking an Assistant Director of Admissions, Midwest Region. As an Assistant Director, you will operate out of your home office in the Chicago Metropolitan Area, recruit in your assigned territory, and will be a 100% remote employee. You will also attend major on-campus events and training sessions periodically throughout the year. This is a 12-month, benefit-eligible position. Your primary responsibility is to assist in the recruitment and admission of freshmen and transfer students to **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.. In this role you will be:
• focused on the growth and management of recruitment efforts primarily in the Chicagoland area, as well as several other Midwest states including but not limited to Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma.
• serving as the primary contact for new students in your designated territory.
• building connections with guidance counselors, independent education consultants, community-based organizations, local alumni, and others to actively recruit in your territory.
• reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions and implementing all related initiatives designed to attract the best possible pool of applicants.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates programs, special projects, events, and other initiatives geared to recruiting students within targeted populations and facilitating admission into Seton Hall. Will work within an admissions team on recruitment, communications, and retention strategies.
2. Provides a full range of advisory and liaison services to prospective students and associated community constituencies regarding Seton Hall admissions and related issues. Ability to explain and counsel families in the financial aid process.
3. Participates in the establishment and implementation of student recruitment strategies, resources, policies, and procedures for the University.
4. Independently represents and promotes Seton Hall at national, regional, state, and local recruitment events.
5. Reviews individual applications and evaluates candidates for admission eligibility; troubleshoots applications with problems and oversees and/or coordinates communications with applicants.
6. Manages the overall communication and functionality within their territory and performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; 3-5 years admissions or related experience required. A directly related higher degree from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience.
• Must be a self-starter, able to work independently from a remote office location while also functioning as a part of the larger Seton Hall Admissions team.
• Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of customers and offer appropriate solutions.
• Knowledge of student recruitment and retention issues at the undergraduate level.
• Skill in the planning, development, implementation, and coordination of student recruitment, retention, and support programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information effectively to groups.
• Ability to understand and promote the Catholic Mission
• Flexible schedule/availability for evening and weekend hours.
• Ability/desire to travel domestically. Travel is heavy (some overnight/weekend travel required) in the fall and spring seasons.
• Access to a personal vehicle for local travel. Valid driver's license.
• Ability to attend major on-campus events and training periodically throughout the year.
