The University Center for Human Values (UCHV) and the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) invite outstanding practitioners, faculty members of any discipline, independent scholars, and lawyers to apply for the visiting residential fellowships for 2022-2023. Fellows are expected to be in residence and contribute to the intellectual life of UCHV and SPIA. We aim to support highly promising scholars trained in the legal analysis of ethical and policy issues to spend a nine-month or four-and-a-half-month fellowship in residence at Princeton, engaged in research, discussion, teaching (as specified below), and scholarly collaboration on topics in these areas. The appointment will be at the rank of Visiting Research Scholar or Visiting Professional Specialist.

All applicants must have received a doctorate, juris doctor, or an equivalent professional degree at the time of submission of the fellowship application. The appointment will be through the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs or the University Center for Human Values.

In addition to carrying out their independent research, candidates will be expected to contribute the equivalent of one course to the undergraduate or graduate programs of the School or the University Center. This contribution may be fulfilled by teaching a course on a topic related to normative issues and law, or law in public policy. Because Princeton does not have a law school, the course should not be designed primarily for law students. Instead, it should be a course that would fit either a liberal arts undergraduate curriculum or a professional master's in public policy curriculum. Any teaching is contingent on sufficient enrollments and must be approved by the Dean of the Faculty.

The successful candidates will receive up to $8,888 a month.

Verification of employment will be requested prior to approval by the Dean of the Faculty. Please submit online at ****a cover letter, a CV, a teaching statement including a description of one potential undergraduate course, 1-2 page research statement for a research project to be pursued in the course of the fellowship, and the names of two persons who can provide letters of reference upon request.

The deadline for submission is March 1, 2022 for full consideration. The position will have an anticipated start date of on or about September 1, 2022. The position is anticipated to be either four and a half months or nine months.: the candidate would teach one course in either configuration, with their remaining time dedicated to research.

We at the School of Public and International Affairs, as well as the University Center for Human Values, believe that it is vital to cultivate an environment that embraces and promotes diversity, equity and inclusion - fundamental to the success of our education and research mission. This commitment to diversity informs our efforts in recruitment and hiring as we actively seek colleagues of exceptional ability who represent a broad range of viewpoints, experiences and value systems, and who share **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s dedication to excellence.
