King University is seeking a temporary part-time Research Lab Manager for the Biology Department’s Toxicology Research Lab for approximately 20 hours per week. Position to start immediately.
Minimum Qualifications:
: Ideal candidates will have familiarity with standard lab equipment, dilutions, and mixing solutions. Ability to supervise undergraduate research students under the direction of the Laboratory’s primary investigator is essential. Experience with the model organism C.elegans and toxicology research is strongly preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field and research experience is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Biology or related field is preferred
Responsibilities:
The Toxicology Research Lab Manager primarily assists with the ongoing summer research projects under the direction of the lab’s Primary Investigator. The Research Lab Manager will be responsible for maintaining strains of C.elegans, general support for the lab including supervising research students, conducting experiments, analyzing data and preparing abstracts and publications. The Research Lab Manager will work with the Biology Department’s Lab Coordinator to maintain an inventory of departmental chemicals, the safe disposal of chemicals, order and receipt of research lab supplies and materials, and assisting with daily tasks and maintenance.
