This position will assist with the day-to-day operation in the Office of Student Financial Services and reports to the Director of Graduate/Professional Student Financial Services. The Senior Assistant Director assists in the execution of the financial aid program designed to assist graduate and professional students with their investment in a Suffolk education. The Senior Assistant Director also collaborates with the director to ensure the policies and practices in financial aid will create outstanding customer service for current and prospective Suffolk students.u00A0u00A0 The Senior Assistant Director will work to eliminate barriers that students may face and create efficient, service friendly ideas for the benefit of students.u00A0Expertise and knowledge of graduate and professional student financial aid processes and procedures; knowledge of Federal Financial Aid programs, regulations and guidelines; proficiency with the use of job-related software programs; skill in interpersonal relations and ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external customers.u00A0Primary Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with federal financial aid regulations.u00A0 Maintain up-to-date policies, procedures, and state or federal laws that may impact department initiatives. Develop and/or assist with the development of policies and procedures and recommends changes to effectively meet the goals and requirements of the program. Implement financial aid awarding strategies.u00A0 Establish office policies and procedures that reflect fair and objective distribution of aid, and participate in financial aid appeals.u00A0Coordinate and deliver financial literacy content for graduate and professional students.u00A0Represent the Office of Student Financial Services at various on and off-campus events as needed, including occasional evening and weekend hours.u00A0Review financial aid applications and award students in caseload of graduate and professional students.u00A0 Manage a caseload of students.u00A0 Counsel students regarding financial aid programs.u00A0 Coordinate the financial aid award process for a designated group of students by coordinating the cycle of awards and reviewing and revising aid application materials.u00A0Manage awarding and ensure compliance for donor scholarship programs for graduate and professional students.u00A0Requirements/Qualification:u00A0 Bacheloru2019s degree; Minimum of five years of recent professional experience in higher education financial aid including demonstrated expertise in financial aid programs and regulations;Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel;Excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving and communication skills;Exemplary customer service skills;Ability to work under continual deadlines requiring great attention to detail while managing competing responsibilities;Exceptional written and oral communication skills; Minimum of five years of experience working with the student information system (Colleague or Workday preferred)The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and a strong commitment to help developing and implementing the Universityu2019s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policies and goals.A limited hybrid schedule is available and will incorporate a mix of in-office and remote work based on the needs of the office and the enrollment cycle.u00A0
