Profile

Description:
The Peninsula Medical School is seeking an outstanding permanent 1FTE Lecturer in Anatomy to join our existing education team to teach clinical anatomy. The Faculty of Health works in close partnership with University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, and with a variety of community-based clinical partners. This vibrant environment ensures that our students receive an excellent, contemporary learning experience, with early clinical immersion opportunities. Our wide array of clinical programmes provides our students with all the skills, knowledge, attributes, support and learning opportunities that they need to become outstanding future clinicians. You would be expected to deliver, help coordinate and develop the anatomical components of our clinical programmes: undergraduate Medicine, Diagnostic Radiography BSc and Physician Associate Studies MSc. Anatomy at Peninsula is learnt using virtual dissection (Anatomage), surface anatomy, medical imaging and a variety of technology-orientated tools to support a comprehensive library of 3D anatomical models. This approach has led to an innovative, effective curriculum design without a reliance on cadaveric dissection. In addition to anatomy-focussed teaching, other educational roles also available may include Enquiry-Based Learning facilitator, academic tutoring and Student-Selected Unit provider. You would join an active and friendly multidisciplinary team of educational scholars, pedagogical and biomedical researchers and you would be expected to be research-active. In your application, in addition to your CV, please also demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria outlined in the Person Specification. The Job Description (including its Person Specification) together with an online application pathway can be accessed via the link found on this page.
