Drive a world class end to end student experience
Transformational leadership role
Located near Christchurch in New Zealand
As the longest running agriculturally based university in the Southern Hemisphere, Lincoln University's story begins with farming, but it certainly doesn't end there. As New Zealand's economy diversified, so have we. Lincoln University is here to enhance and enrich lives, growing the knowledge of our students so they can shape a world that benefits from a greater understanding of the relationship between our land, the food produced from it and the ecosystems within it. With three academic faculties, one teaching division, several research centres, and a range of corporate service units, Lincoln University draws its students from throughout New Zealand and from over 60 countries. Lincoln University has a student roll of around 3,000 and approximately 600 staff.
This newly established Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) Student Life position is a key leadership role pivotal to the future growth of Lincoln University. As DVC Student Life, you will strategically lead an end-to-end, world-class student experience and develop and implement initiatives to maximise learner success. This will include advancing learning and teaching, learner success, student engagement and experience, student health and wellbeing and student administration.
Holding an appropriate tertiary qualification, you will have outstanding experience in leading high quality student engagement, student administration and learner success and a proven track record of strategic leadership combined with innovative thinking and effective implementation. A sound knowledge of the university environment and academic policies will be important, as will the ability to advance organisational structures to support all the aspects of student success.
With insight of the distinctiveness of a specialised land-based university, you will demonstrate strategic management and administration skills honed in a complex environment, combined with experience driving a transformational change agenda, highly developed judgement skills, strong integrity, a collaborative and courageous style and outstanding communication ability.  You will lead by example, interacting successfully with a wide range of stakeholders, displaying the capacity to commit to the obligations of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and will have the energy and vision required to inspire and motivate others.
