Blue Ash College Allied Health Department invites applications for our Adjunct faculty general pool of candidates from which part time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed). The number of positions varies depending on the needs of the department. Appointments are renewed based on departmental need and teaching performance. Rank and compensation are based on experience and academic credentials.
UC Blue Ash is the largest regional college in Ohio and one of the largest colleges at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.. We are an open access college and offer primarily associate degrees with an enrollment of approximately 5100 students. All applicants for this position must be proficient in English, have strong communication skills, and be effective classroom facilitators who enjoy teaching in a culturally diverse, student-centered environment.
On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member's primary academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to a diverse set of students.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFICS
Allied Health Adjunct Faculty responsibilities include:
*Teaching associate level courses in introductory professions, medical terminology, and/or pathophysiology. *Courses may be offered day or evening, in face-to-face, hybrid or online formats. *Teaching is assigned on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis.
Adjunct faculty members will be required to:
*Use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems; *Hold regular office hours in order to meet with students; and *Participate in at least two professional development workshops per year
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*On a part-time basis, conduct and teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses and seminars. *May serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework. *Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities. *Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications. *Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
*Academic degree in an appropriate disciple and prior teaching experience. *Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with a subject. *Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
A bachelor's or Master's degree in an allied health or related field. Minimum of three years of professional experience within allied health.
