Job Description:
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the oversight and execution of the Tutoring Programs for students at the College. This includes providing tutoring, the supervision of the Peer Consultants (Tutors), and ensuring programs align with student needs and the mission of the College.
Essential Functions of the Position:
Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates Peer Consultants in all subject areas and writing support.
Develops and provides academic support for native speakers of English, English Language Learners, and under-prepared and at-risk populations.
Maintains WCOline appointment and reporting software.
Organizes and maintain reporting systems and prepare routine reports as needed.
Maintains and delivers Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 tutor training curriculum in accordance with CRLA standards.
Oversees and conducts assessment of all tutoring staff, locations, and services.
Manages and expands the Embedded Tutoring Program to support at-risk courses.
Assesses, plans, organizes, and supervises academic assistance activities for individuals or groups.
Coordinators tutor budget lines with guidance from the Director.
Provides or supervises outreach to students, staff, and faculty.
Provides appropriate referrals to academic departments and other college resources as necessary to help students achieve their academic goals.
Collaborates with the Communication Resource Center for programming and WCOline services.
Provides academic coaching services to assigned caseload of students.
Attends and presents at new student orientations, open houses, and recruitment events as needed.
Attends regularly scheduled department meetings.
Reports and processes referrals in retention software as adopted by the College.

Ability to adapt to diverse learning needs and be sensitive to the needs of a diverse student population including minority and international students, at-risk and under-prepared students, and students with accessibility needs.
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks by setting self-imposed deadlines.

Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Detail-orientation with proven organizational and management skills.
Ability to supervise Peer Consultants to ensure their success with students.
Ability to manage data, provide analysis, and reporting from the data that is easy to understand and articulate to others.
Demonstrate skills in short and long-term planning and the ability to manage growth and change in a program.
Ability to analyze/solve problems and exercise judgement in resolving or referring special or non-routine situations.
Ability to work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of the students.
Required Experience & Education:
A Master's degree is strongly preferred; an exceptional candidate with a Bachelor's degree and relevant experience will be considered. Prior professional experience in a writing program is preferred. Supervisory experience is required.
Physical requirements:
This is primarily a sedentary position in a professional environment.
Use of office equipment including computers, printers, copiers with lifting of less than 20Ib occasionally to fill machines or move files.
