Job Summary
Under general supervision, assist the primary animal health technician. Assist in cleaning animal cages, feed and socialize with the animals. Do laundry and regular maintenance; as well as assist the technician in charge with other duties.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. of supplies, equipment and animals.
Handle, move, and transport animals.
Contact with animals.
Work with animal dander, bedding material.
Work in restricted area, wear protective clothing, and handle bio-hazardous material.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work in an environment where animals are used in research.
No smoking, eating, or drinking in animal areas.
Position is subject to medical surveillance procedures and review in accordance with Federal, State, and University requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Basic knowledge of feline husbandry and handling.
Weekend and holidays availability.
Preferred:
Experience working in an animal research setting.
Experience working in feline husbandry.
Knowledge of University and IACUC policies.
